Someguy, it’s not that he was vomiting on the drumset or anything, it was simply that he wasn’t teaching anything. Not well, at least. Teaching triplets successfully requires more than a video that doesn’t even make it past the minute and a half mark. Granted, teaching triplets successfully requires actual practice time with an individual or group, so this video can’t hope to achieve that. But, for a video, it doesn’t even do what it should. There’s really no teaching done. He says a few numbers and syllables, hits the drums, and tells you to feel it in your soul. Teaching isn’t easy, as proven here. Hopefully these guys keep learning, if that’s their goal…

dlinebass5 – you’re spot on. This was more of a teaching fail than anything else. There are some real gems out there when it comes to instructional videos, but almost anything out of Expert Village isn’t one.

It may not have been presented very well, but at least they were giving correct information. The How (not) to play syncopation video was full of wrong information.

Moral of the story…expert village needs to stop.

funny thing is thats how i was taught to do triplets except not in this stonerish way lol my friend told me to put 3 beats into the quarter note turned on a metronome and walked out came back 5 minutes later and i had it lol
