Boston Crusaders Semis
I hate to use the word “surprise,” but Boston’s drumline was just that. Big sound, good beats, and just fun to watch. Thanks, BAC!

As promised, we’re going to be at the Drum Corps International World Championships in Indianapolis reporting, tweeting, blogging, recording, blah blah blah starting Friday night. The plan is to put together all the content and recordings and post them sometime late Friday night. In the meantime, the best way to stay super up to date is by following me on Twitter (updates will also show on the right side). I’ll keep it updated with what’s going including TweetMic recordings, which are audio recordings posted directly to my Twitter account and hosted online. Throughout the night, feel free to send requests for audio, video, interviews, etc to me and I’ll do my best to fulfill as many as I can.
If you’re in Indy, look for me. I’ll be wearing the yellow drumFunny shirt and running around like a maniac.
DCI Fan Network: Cavaliers Kick Off Indy 09.
Note to DCI, please make your Fan Network videos embedable :\
[UPDATE] Special congrats to drumFunny fan and contributor Eric Carr, who placed second in tenors I&E! Eric was the creator of Drumline Friends and the Hey Arnold! drumline. Way to go, dude.
We’re looking to do some live coverage of DCI Finals (+Semis) this weekend. If you plan on attending and want to help film some lot clips with us, let me know. We’ll take all the videos and post them that night to the drumFunny Youtube channel and drumFunny homepage. We’ll give you the credit and a plug if you’d like. All you need if your own video recording device (preferably with a USB output).
If you’re interested, shoot me an e mail.
Bobby McFerrin uses an unsuspecting audience to demonstrate the inherent understanding of the pentatonic scale. Hats off to you, Carl Orff (and Bobby McFerrin).
Thanks, Jake!
Sybarite5 is a New York-based group that have found their niche in combining the traditional orchestral sounds of Dvorák with the modern day influences of bands like Radiohead.
Quoted from their website: “Devoted to educating and expanding the repertoire for string quintet, SYBARITE5 breaks down conventional musical boundaries to boldly step forward into a new genre of chamber music.”
This is a video from one of their latest projects: Radio Remixed.
