Stand By Me – Performed By Musicians From Around The World
Disclaimer: this is not a funny video. But it is pretty awesome. I thought it would be a great way to kick off your day. Make sure you watch it top to bottom. Believe me, it’s worth it.
This particular cover of the tune Stand By Me was recorded by totally unknown musicians from around the world out in the street. The skeleton recording consisted of only a bass track, vocals, and guitar recorded on the streets of Santa Monica, California by street musician Roger Ridley. Next, the track was taken to New Orleans, Louisiana where Grandpa Elliot, the blind singer with the wiry white beard added more vocals and a harmonica into the mix while listening to Ridley’s original track through a set of headphones.
The producers then took the mix though out South America, Africa, and Europe adding new tracks as they went. This was all done with nothing more than a laptop and some mics.
This put a smile on my face at the end of a long day. Hope it does the same for you…
