I have the actual Modern Drummer issue where this pic was in it…..I was too young to understand but when I saw it again a few years ago….I totally got it

There is a time for being complex and there is a time to be simple…..we just gotta know when that time is right…..

after doing some studio recording, I can appreciate this fully. yea many drummers can play crazy licks, but can they play it to a click track and do the same thing several different times?

So true…Im more of the guy who gets hired…the other kid who plays the set is the guy who is ‘amazing’
